This Week’s Decluttering Challenge: Kitchen Cupboards and Drawers
Grab a trash bag and giveaway box and start with a kitchen cupboard or drawer. You can either do this once this week, or do a little every day!
Pro Tip: If you’re going to do a little decluttering daily, I recommend setting up an easy portable decluttering station with a basket or bin for trash and giveaway that you can keep in your decluttering zone each week. You can see how to set one up here: https://youtu.be/9zKOrML1YGY?t=43
Amazon Home Find of the Week:
I saw this and my mind was blown! My husband and I are obsessed with snacks, and this is such a great way to keep them fresh!
Homemaker Spotlight of the Week: Eileen
This week’s homemaker spotlight is one of our Domestic Darlings, Eileen! Eileen is a new stay at home mom, and she has been a huge inspiration! In just a few weeks she went from struggling to keep a consistently tidy home or routine, to keeping a cleaning routine morning and night, getting rid of her pile of laundry that had been hiding in the basement, and she has reclaimed her home from chaos! Here’s what she has to say:
“I want to say thank you. I've been a stay at home mom since February and I've been really struggling with finding a cleaning/decluttering/laundry routine. In the few days since I started listening to your Domestic Dreams radio routines, I've seen a definite improvement in my home. An even bigger thank you for putting one type of laundry on each specific day. We have a huge pile in the basement and I was not making any headway until now!”

6 Five-Minute Cleaning Tasks That’ll Make You AND Your Home Feel 20x Better!
Ah, cleaning. The bane of every homemaker's existence. It seems like every day, something new is begging to be cleaned, but who has the time? Not to fear! In this post, I'm going to share with you six quick and easy five-minute cleaning tasks that will make both you and your home feel 20x better. These tasks are so simple, even your kids or your spouse can do them (wink wink).
- Wipe down baseboards: Believe it or not, your baseboards probably get dirtier than you think. But fear not, all you need to do is take a damp cloth and wipe them down in just 5 minutes. You'll be amazed at how much cleaner your home will look because of it.
- Dust your blinds: Have you ever looked at your blinds in direct sunlight and been mortified by the amount of dust and grime that's accumulated on them? Same here. But by simply using an old sock and some all-purpose cleaner, you can clean those pesky blinds in just 5 minutes.
- Organize your fridge: I know, I know. The idea of cleaning out your fridge seems daunting and time-consuming. But in just 5 minutes, you can organize the items in your fridge and throw out any expired products. Trust me, your future self (and your stomach) will thank you.
- Vacuum or sweep high traffic areas: We all know those areas in our homes that get the most foot traffic and therefore, the most dirt and dust. Spend 5 minutes quickly sweeping or vacuuming those areas and see the immediate difference it makes in your home's overall cleanliness.
- Wipe down kitchen counters: If you're like me, your kitchen counters are the catch-all for everything from dirty dishes to mail to random knick-knacks. But taking just 5 minutes to clear them off and give them a good wipe down can make your whole kitchen feel cleaner and more organized.
- Clean your sink: Your kitchen sink is the ultimate breeding ground for germs and bacteria. But by spending just 5 minutes cleaning it out with some hot water and dish soap, you'll not only feel better about the hygiene of your home, but you'll also have a sparkling clean sink to admire.
Cleaning doesn't have to be this huge daunting task that takes up all of your time. By incorporating these quick and efficient five-minute cleaning tasks into your routine, you'll be able to keep your home feeling clean and organized with minimal effort. So go ahead, tackle those baseboards, organize that fridge, and wipe down those counter tops. You got this, homemaker!
