The Best Weekly Cleaning Schedule for Busy Moms | My Weekly Cleaning Routine

Hi Mama, I see you. I know how heavy it feels when the mess around you starts to take over—not just your home, but your mind, too. The endless piles of laundry, the scattered toys, the constant hum of dishes left undone… it can all feel like too much. When you’re frozen in the middle of it, unsure where to even begin, it’s easy to believe you’ll never get on top of it. But here’s the truth I want you to hold onto right now: all is well.
Before we tackle anything else, I need you to take a deep breath. Step outside for a moment if you can. Look around at the sky, the trees swaying, or the sound of birds nearby. Maybe you can hear the sound of your kiddos laughing right now. Life is still happening, all is well, and no matter what your home looks like right now, you will find your way through. All is well, and all will be well. Don’t worry about fixing it all today. You don’t have to. The first step is to give yourself grace and take things one small, simple action at a time.
Now, I know that chaos in our homes can reflect or even add to the overwhelm in our minds. That’s why I want to share something that’s helped me immensely. It’s a manageable weekly cleaning schedule that keeps my home feeling serene and under control without being overwhelming. It’s all about breaking big, scary tasks into doable pieces.
This routine is easy to follow, practical, and takes just a little bit of effort each day. Before you know it, you’ll feel that mental fog lifting as your home starts to look and feel more like the sanctuary you deserve. I promise, you can do this. You don’t have to figure it out alone. I’ve got the steps ready to share with you, and together, we’ll take back control of your space and your peace of mind. 💖
5 Things I Do Weekly to Keep My Home Spotless
Hey there, Domestic Darling! Does your home feel like it’s in constant chaos? Toys scattered everywhere, dust that reappears as soon as you’ve wiped it, and that endless pile of dishes staring at you? You’re not alone. I’ve been there, and I know how stressful it can be to feel like you’re drowning in mess. But I’ve got great news for you! I found a weekly routine that transformed my home into a calm, organized space with just five simple tasks.
These tasks are quick, easy, and they’ve completely changed the game for me. With a little planning and consistency, homemaking doesn’t have to feel like a battle anymore. You deserve a home that feels like the sanctuary it’s meant to be, and this routine is the key. Here’s how it works! 💖
Monday: Declutter & Deep Clean (Zone Focus)
Start the week strong! Spend 15 minutes decluttering and deep cleaning the “zone” you’re focusing on that week. Pick a specific area (like the kitchen or living room) and tackle those small tasks that make a big difference, like wiping down cabinets or sorting through cluttered shelves. Want to turn this into a breeze? Check out my printable 5-Minute Miracles guide here, which breaks these tasks into fast, manageable chunks.
Tuesday: Bathroom Blitz
Tackle those pesky bathrooms! A quick, weekly tidy-up prevents grime from building up, keeping bathrooms fresh and clean without much effort. With the right approach, it’ll stop feeling like the dreaded chore we all love to hate. Bonus points for adding a few quick decluttering tasks if you’re feeling extra motivated!
Wednesday: Fridge Cleanout & Meal Prep
Midweek is all about cleaning the fridge and planning meals. Start by clearing expired items, wiping down shelves, and taking stock of what you already have. This keeps your fridge fresh and ready for the week while making grocery shopping easier. (Pro tip: Many stores restock on Wednesdays, which makes it a great time to take advantage of fresh deals!)
Thursday: Dust Away
Take a few minutes to dust surfaces around the house. I like to use my favorite non-toxic dusting spray (here’s my natural cleaning recipe if you’re interested!). A weekly dusting keeps allergens at bay and your home looking fresh.
Friday: Vacuum & Mop
With the dusting out of the way, I finish the week by vacuuming or mopping the house. It doesn’t have to be a deep clean—I just focus on the most-used areas. Consistency here is key, and it keeps the floors looking great week to week without the stress of tackling everything at once.
Saturday: Another Zone Mini Clean
Circle back to your cleaning “zone” for a second 15-minute blitz. Maybe you deep cleaned on Monday and want to wrap up with decluttering today, or vice versa. Either way, splitting it between two days keeps this manageable and ensures the area is truly refreshed.
